Caritas is a non-sectarian organization that exists to serve the emergency social service needs of area residents by: (1) coordinating the efforts of businesses, faith communities and organizations in Beloit and the Stateline area; and (2) providing a centralized location to meet those needs. Caritas serves clients who live in Beloit and the stateline area. Caritas is mainly a food pantry and donated clothing distributor. All of our resources are donated. Clothing Room offers donated clothing and household linens; Food Pantry provides a four-day grocery supply. When grant funds are available, Caritas provides Rent Assistance and prescription medication assistance. Rent Assistance is either first-month s rent to end homelessness or current-month s rent to prevent eviction.
