A community group
that felt the need to help families in crisis in our community founded
North County Community Food Bank in 1996. We do provide food to families
and that is one of our main purposes. The goal is to find out way they
came to need food. By finding out how they got to that situation we can
then help them find the path to having a stable household again. We do
this by accessing residents to our Basic Life skill classes; cooking,
household management, financial management and family health. We also
referral residents to other programs that can assist them with their
needs, i.e.: SWIFT Dental program, Energy Assistance, Household repair
programs, Medical programs.
