The Mission of Mercy Empowerment Center Inc. (MMEC), is a faith based organization that grew out of the Missionary Society of Reid Temple A.M.E. Church. It became an independent non-profit organization in May 2000. The array of services provided are as follows: A. Provide relief to poor and distresses persons including assistance and referrals for food, clothing, shelter and health care. B. Provide and promote relief to poor and distressed persons including programs and support services to help people find holistic solutions to situations such as dependency, illiteracy, homelessness, teen pregnancy, poverty, unemployment, and family violence and abuse. C. Provide resources and assistance for continuing education and job training to empower individuals, particularly economically disadvantaged persons. Mission of Mercy Empowerment Center, Inc. ("MoM") was created as a community outreach project of Reid Temple A.M.E. Church s Queen Jefferson Missionary Society. Our stated mission is assisting low-income individuals in Prince George s County focusing on ex-offenders and persons in recovery.
