Provides emergency assistance for residents of central Louisville (parts of zip codes 40202, 40203 and 40208 in Jefferson Co, KY), including limited financial assistance for rent, utility bills, and prescriptions; food vouchers; clothing vouchers; haircut vouchers; and referrals to other community resources.

Provides financial assistance once per year and food assistance once per month.

Rent and utility assistance requests are considered by appointment only.

Food and prescription assistance are given on a walk-in basis.

Since the availability of funds varies from day to day, individuals needing assistance are encouraged to call during business hours to check on availability, however HELP Ministries is unable to return messages.

Also assists homeless persons obtain identification cards and birth certificates once per year.

Funds are very limited for I.D. assistance and are only available on the first Monday of the month to the first 10 individuals who arrive by 9:30am.

The i.d. assistance service may be eliminated in 2009.
