The program provides free legal assistance to persons with income within 200% of the federal poverty guidelines and refers clients to attorneys willing to handle cases at no cost.

Types of cases handled are employment and economic security, public and subsidized rental housing, landlord tenant disputes, home ownership problems, Medicaid, food stamps, unemployment compensation benefits, access to healthcare, special education, IRS income tax controversies, domestic violence and dissolution of marriage in Monroe County, and consumer law problems for people with AIDS.
