Description
The Farmworker Coordinating Council is a private, not-for-profit
organization dedicated to providing comprehensive social and human
services to Palm Beach County s farmworkers and their families. The FWCC
began in the winter of 1977-78 with a group of volunteers who responded
to the emergency needs of farmworkers affected when a sudden freeze
destroyed much of the area s fruits and vegetables. Since then the
unique and acute needs of the farmworkers of Palm Beach County have been
served by the efforts of this small but productive agency. The FWCC has
grown from its beginnings as a small group of volunteers to a
full-service United Way agency with eleven employees, two offices, and
multiple funding sources.
