Description
Community action agency for Bristol, Burlington, Farmington, Plainville
and Plymouth provides community based services for people who are
economically disadvantaged to promote self-sufficiency and economic
independence.
BCO administers the following programs: Retired and
Senior Volunteer Program, Eviction Prevention Program, energy
assistance, homemaker/companion/respite services for elders and Head
Start.

Elegibility: Resident of Bristol, Burlington, Farmington, Plainville, or
Plymouth/Terryville experiencing a non-recurring, unexpected,
documentable hardship; For financial assistance applicant must have
received a notice to quit; People who are behind in rent but do not yet
have a notice to quit are eligible for mediation services only; Must
have income; Income must be at or below 60% of the state median income;
Monthly rent/mortgage cannot exceed 60% of gross monthly income; Must be
able to pay the next month s rent; Other restrictions may apply
Hours of operation:M-F: 8:30am-4:30pm
Cannot apply more than once in any 18 month period
