Nutrition Program for the Elderly
Seniors 60 and over can enjoy healthy, nutritious meals at senior centers or through home delivered meals. Meals are free or donations can be made. Centers provide a warm comfortable atmosphere for seniors to gather to enjoy a meal and activities. The program also provides a link to services and information for seniors. The program also provides food service for a local hospital.
Child Care
ACAP Child Care is the primary resoure for meeting the child care needs of parents in Essex County, NY. The Child Care Resource and Referral provides information and referrals as well as training, advocacy, and education to meet the needs of children, families, businesses, and providers. Our offices are located in Elizabethtown and are open from 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Community Action Angels
is a statewide initiative that connects people who want to give back to their community with those in need. Adirondack Community Action Programs, Inc. has become a member of Community Action Angels and encourages people who would like to give back to their community to seek out ways to be involved and contribute.
Community Services
In support of our mission, ACAP offers core services to support family stability by removing barriers that prevent individuals from moving toward self-sufficiency. Emergency Needs assists individuals in emergency situations to help them obtain the resources they need. Food shelves are located in 9 towns and the main office in Elizabethtown.
Employment and Training – Career Center
OneWorkSource Business and Employment Center located at 103 Hand Avenue in Elizabethtown, NY
ACAP is the host partner of the One-Stop in Essex County which provides an accessible and seamless system to address the employment and training needs of job seekers, workers and businesses. For more information on services please click on the link below:
