Provides
security deposit, one month s rent, or a mortgage payment for eligible
clients who are in danger of being evicted.
Pays for prescriptions and
over-the-counter drugs not covered by Medicaid or insurance, and helps
pay for emergency medical or dental assistance.
Helps pay utility bills
such as natural gas and electric, and will also pay for bulk fuel
(oil/propane).
Can provide gasoline money or transit vouchers for
approved transportation needs only (such as: job interview, doctor s
appointment).
Annual monetary caps per household are as follows: one
month s mortgage payment up to a maximum of $500, security deposit or
first month s rent $500, rental payment $400, utility payment $500, bulk
fuel payment $500 (or minimum delivery amount), gasoline assistance $35
(or Geauga Transit passes), and medical/prescription assistance $300.

United way services of geauga county
Works with a
variety of churches and charities to provide temporary emergency
financial aid for residents of Geauga County.
Provides assistance with
the following: rent, mobile home lot payments, mortgage payments,
utility bill payments (will only help with phone bill payments if there
is a medical or emergency reason), fuel oil, gas money, home repair,
furnace repair, and stranded traveler assistance (transportation only to
adjacent counties).
Does not help with car repair or diapers.
Provides
vouchers for clothing that may be used at thrift stores.
Also provides
financial assistance to access medical services, prescription
medications (does not help with over the counter medications), and other
urgent needs if deemed necessary and appropriate.
Funds are limited,
subject to availability, and given at the discretion of the charitable
organization.
Payments will generally not exceed $500, and the typical
amount given is less than $350.
Money will not go directly to the

Provides
assistance with food, shelter (rent or mortgage), and utility bills for
families of active military personnel.
Assistance is in the form of
vouchers.
Amount of assistance depends on the number of dependents left
behind after deployment.
