The Tri-State Russian Media Group was formed in 2001, after over a decade of work in the community by the President or the organization who was actively involved in assisting members of the Russian-American community, and was producing the first informative ethnic publication, the Russian Market Newspaper . The organization serves over one million Russian-speaking residents in the states of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. During their first several years in the United States, the Russian-Americans face various impediments due to a language barrier and cultural differences. The American media sources as well as the social assistance programs, due to the language differences, often neglect them, making many programs inaccessible to them. We have a strong community education focus and develop materials and conduct training sessions on legal issues important to the ethnically and geographically diverse individuals and communities we serve.
