three rehabilitation programs: Vocational Rehabilitation, Independent
Living, and State Only.
The Vocational Rehabilitation Program provides

Financial
assistance and counseling is provided.
Independent Living serves those
who have no vocational objective, but who have experienced an impediment
to their independence in their home, family, or community.

National Federation of the Blind of Idaho
The goals of
the NFB are to ensure opportunity, security and equality for all blind
citizens.
The purpose of the National Federation of the Blind is
two-fold-to help blind persons achieve self-confidence and self-respect
and to act as a vehicle for collective self-expression by the blind.
Members of the NFB strive to educate the public that the blind are
normal individuals who can compete on terms of equality with their sighted
peers.
The NFB has created a wide array of services to blind and
visually impaired persons of all ages. They provide public education about
blindness, information and referral services, scholarships, literature
and publications about blindness, aids and appliances and other adaptive
equipment for the blind.
In addition, they also assist with advocacy
services and protection of civil rights, have created Job Opportunities
for the Blind and Newsline for the Blind (newspaper by telephone), and they are actively developing and evaluating technology, and support for
blind persons and their families.The NFB of Idaho awards scholarships
each year, during the NFB of Idaho State Convention held in early
